Specialists are veterinarians who have higher qualifications and skills in a particular area of veterinary medicine. They have been through advanced and supervised training and passed recognised specialist exams in order to become registered specialists. Veterinarians may recommend and refer their clients to specialists and some specialists also accept enquiries directly from the public.
