Refunds and cancelations policy

All registration and annual register maintenance fees and fees for the supply of documents primarily cover costs associated with processing the application or request. As such, they are not cancellable or refundable, regardless of the outcome. In rare cases, and at the Registrar’s discretion a refund may be issued, for example on compassionate grounds, minus an administration fee.

Annual practising certificate fees are partially refundable for those who choose to relinquish their annual practising certificate during the practising year. Any refund is calculated on a quarterly, pro-rata basis, minus an administration fee of $56. To request a refund and update your practising intent, please email [email protected]

Reduced fees for those ceasing practice during the practice year

It is not feasible to implement a prospective pro-rata APC fee for those proposing to cease practice part way through the practising year. Rather such applicants are required to pay the full fee upfront, and then seek a refund within 4 weeks of ceasing practice. The onus will be on the veterinarians to apply for a refund. Those ceasing practice between January and March, the last quarter of the practising year, are not eligible for a refund. For those ceasing practice before this time, the refund will be as follows:

For 2024 – 2025 year:

April 2024 – June 2024 = $363.25

July 2024 – September 2024 = $223.50

October 2024 – December 2024 = $83.75

January 2025 – March 2025 = no refund eligible
