Upcoming CPD review
26 March 2026

If you haven’t reviewed your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) plan lately, now could be a great time to do so.
The Vet Council encourages veterinarians to review their plans at least once a year or more regularly if possible. We are operating under the new CPD system, which you can read more about here. Veterinarians are expected to meet the new requirements.
Later this year, the Vet Council will undertake a round of CPD reviews.
A small number of veterinarians will be asked to supply their CPD plans and supporting evidence for review. The reviews will be done by a team of veterinarians from across the profession. Our approach will be supportive and educational, with a focus on ensuring veterinarians are undertaking relevant and meaningful CPD. Where needed, our team will work with veterinarians to support the development of their CPD plans.
Ahead of the reviews, we will publish example plans for the profession. We will also publish the rubric that will be used to assess CPD plans and evidence.
